Announcement of Successful Applicants for 2023 International Film Business Academy
We appreciate the high level of interest and support shown by many people around the world to the recruitment of new fellows for the 2023 International Film Business Academy Program. The IFBA is the main course at the Busan Asian Film School, which is devoted to nurturing film talents who will become future leaders in the film industry in Korea, Asia and the rest of the world.
In the fellow recruitment for 2023, we selected 18 successful applicants from 14 countries out of a total 143 candidates from 24 countries. The selection results are as follows.
- Commentary on Selection -
A total of 39 applicants were interviewed by the selection committee in the final stage of the application process for the 2023 International Film Business Academy at Busan Asian Film School. In the course of these interviews we were struck with the wide spectrum of experience and clear potential shown by all of the applicants. Choosing only 18 among this group to participate in the IFBA was a challenge, and we had no choice but to turn down many accomplished and deserving applicants. Final decisions were based on applicants’ prior experience and filmography, understanding of the field, communication skills, performance in the interview, and the originality and potential of their submitted projects. We encourage those who did not get selected this year to continue gaining experience in the field, and all are welcome to apply again in the future. To the selected fellows, we congratulate you and look forward to having you in Busan in the coming year.
