Announcement of Successful Applicants for 2024 International Film Business Academy - Producing Track
We appreciate the high level of interest and support shown by many people around the world to the recruitment of new fellows for the 2024 International Film Business Academy Program. The IFBA is the main course at the Busan Asian Film School, which is devoted to nurturing film talents who will become future leaders in the film industry in Korea, Asia and the rest of the world. In the fellow recruitment for 2024, we selected 17 successful applicants from 16 countries out of a total 107 candidates from 26 countries. The selection results are as follows.
- Comments by Selection Committee - This year, 45 applicants were interviewed by the selection committee in the final stage of the application process for the Busan Asian Film School’s 2024 International Film Business Academy. Each year we are always impressed by the accomplishments and potential shown by the applicants, and this year especially the level was very high. With only 17 spots available, we found ourselves in the uncomfortable position of turning down many highly qualified applicants who have already accomplished much in their careers. In some cases, our decisions were based on how much we believed our program could make a difference to the applicant’s current and future career, rather than on the applicant’s overall accomplishments to date. These were not easy choices, and we hope that those who were not accepted will not take our decision as a judgement on their future potential. As always, applicants are welcome to apply again in future years. As a school, we remain committed to providing opportunities to fellows from a wide range of countries who may not have access to formal training programs in producing. To the selected fellows, we congratulate you and look forward to having you in Busan in the coming year. - Judges -
